Hello, My name is Gwen Ward and welcome to my website, and a chance to step back into the Victorian era of the past. Victorian shades began to appear in 1918, the same time that the silk shades were coming in. Since then, they have brought into the home a certain style and elegance that only Victorian shades can do. Several years ago, I learned how to make these Victorian beauties and have never stopped. Although I do other shade styles, the Victorians are my favorite. My work has been shown in finer antique shops, tea rooms, and interior design houses in the Tampa Bay area. All my shades are hand sewn by me. I do custom designing and can use your fabric or mine. If you have a favorite lamp that needs a shade, I can make the shade to match the lamp. I can custom dye to any color that you want and use a number of imported, vintage and local fabrics; beading, fringes, and trims. I restore lamp shades and will do shades for television, movies, and the stage. We are always glad to work with retail clients and design professionals. No job is too small or too large.
